  • North Shore Mayors Golf Tournament at Seymour Golf North Vancouver

    North Shore Mayors Golf Tournament – Tee it up for the 9th Annual North Shore Mayors Golf Tournament. Held at the beautiful Seymour Golf and Country Club in North Vancouver, the event is always a give-back fundraiser for both the North Shore and West Vancouver Community Foundations. This year, the North Shore Schizophrenia Society was the charity of choice receiving the first $50,000 of the total $190,000 raised. Proudly sponsored by NorthVancouver Magazine (NorthVancouver.com) and WestVancouver Magazine (WestVancouver.com).

  • North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament

    The sun was out and the greens were ready at Seymour Golf and Country Club last weekend as the 7th Annual North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament took place. Foursomes started swinging early to enjoy a day on the links with friends and guests all in support of the new Turning Point Recovery Society and their new Women’s Recovery House located in North Vancouver. Every golfer also got an opportunity to try to “Beat the Mayor” on three different specialty challenge holes. Afterwards there was a gourmet meal followed by silent and live auction and then dancing to live music by the Boom Booms.

  • North Shore Mayors Golf Tournament at Seymour

    Fore! It was time to hit the links as the 6th Annual North Shore Mayors Golf Tournament signalled the unofficial start of summer’s swinging good times. Held at the beautiful Seymour Golf and Country Club in North Vancouver, the conditions were perfect for a great day of fun in the sun. This year the Hollyburn Family Services Society and their “Supporting Seniors to Remained Housed” project was the recipients of the first $50,000 of funds raised. Overall, everyone got a chance to drive for show and putt for dough via the many entertaining challenges which included longest drive, closest to the hole, hole-in-one, and the putting contest. Congratulations also to the many volunteers who helped organize the event. Job well done!

  • Cory Monteith of Glee opens first Pinkberry store in Canada at West Vancouver’s Park Royal Village

    I scream, you scream, we all scream for . . . Okay, it’s not ice cream exactly, but according to hundreds of teenage girls, it was definitely worth screaming about. Last week, Pinkberry frozen yogurt opened it’s first ever store in Canada in West Vancouver at The Village at Park Royal Shopping Centre. The hip West Hollywood treat, popular with movie stars like Lindsay Lohan, also caused a big stir by bringing along local actor and “Glee” TV heartthrob Cory Monteith. Monteith and his band Bonnie Dune played two sets and signed autographs to the squealing delight of star struck teens. Also last week, the North Vancouver Chamber held their Summer Soiree evening at Seymour Golf and Country Club. It was a chance to welcome new members, celebrate milestones and introduce new board members for the upcoming year.

  • Vancity Richard Brodeur Golf Tourney at Seymour Country Club

    richard_brodeur.jpgThe greens were groomed and the sun was shining at North Vancouver’s stunning Seymour Golf and Country Club as the First Annual Vancity Golf & Boogie Tournament teed off for charity. Headed up by famous North Shore resident and legendary Vancouver Canucks keeper “King” Richard Brodeur, players were driving for show and putting to raise dough for the Hollyburn Family Services Society. Later, a five star dinner buffet and live auction kept guests bidding until Billy Dixon’s Soul Train Express and his Solid Gold Sisters of Soul kept the party pumping until late. Congrats to all involved.
