The first annual Sports for All Players Challenge Golf Tournament took place last week with a star-studded game of golf and a fabulous opening reception courtesy of Granville Island's Blackfish Marine. Sports stars and celebs alike came out swinging for this very good cause, the proceeds of which go to support the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Also, Hastings Racecourse has been given a big facelift thanks to the gang at Great Canadian Casinos. The previously dilapidated concourse area has been transformed into a sparkling, ringing and blinging slots area complete with bar and lounge area. The opening night event was literally a circus, thanks to the performers from CircusWest and Sharon Bonner and her crew at Bright Ideas who draped the reception tent in red and purple and served drinks from behind one of the largest ice sculptured bars ever to be seen in Vancouver - very cool indeed.
