Sarah Silverman is small, sexy and actually very sweet in person - but when she hits the stage, the scat really begins to fly. Known for her very unladylike humour, Silverman's two-show appearance this past weekend at the River Rock Casino Resort was a complete sell out. Leaving no one, or no group, unscathed - the crude-yet-coquettish comedian aimed to please. A quick meet and greet session with the star however proved that she is more darling than devil as she readily greeted VIPs with genuine warmth and a kind smile. Meanwhile, the International Special Events Society hosted a fabulous fundraiser last week at Can Am Importique in Burnaby. The Buffet Blowout paired food caterers and design teams who then used movie set paraphernalia to build three separate 50s, 60s and 70s themed rooms all in support of the Jody Horn Fairy Wellness Foundation. Also raising money for a good cause were the supporters and VIP guests at Rat Pack, Rascals and Riches - the Royal Columbia Hospital Foundation Gala. Monies raised here go towards the $2 million fund for vital cardiac equipment and a new cardiac surgery and intensive care unit.
