Interior Design Show, Grooms Night Out at Players Chophouse, Residences at Georgia Hotel

Vancouver's prestigious Hotel Georgia, now closed for renovations, was once known as the home away from home for stars like Errol Flynn, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. But the rich and famous will again return according to developer Bruce Langereis who, last week, made another major announcement. Award-winning chef David Hawksworth, formerly of West restaurant, is on board and plans on opening the doors to "Hawksworth" as early as October 2009. The hotel's $275 million renovations however may take a little longer, but Langereis hopes to open in time to host the Steven Spielberg family for the 2010 Olympics. The adjoining residential tower will open in 2011. Meanwhile, Vancouverites got a chance to see what's new in residential decor at the Interior Design Show West at the Vancouver Convention Centre last weekend. Also, future I-do-ers were treated to a guys night out and whooped it up bachelor style at the Players Chophouse for Grooms Night Out 2008.
