Sarah McLachlan, Bruce Allen, Red Robinson and Mike Reno were just some of the famous faces seen in Gastown last week as the third annual Vancouver Music Industry Gala and Golf Tournament took place. Canvas Lounge played host to the heavies as invited guests and VIPs got together and raised over $50,000 for the Sarah McLachlan Foundation. On a totally different note, the Playboy Golf tournament also swung into town with an A-List of bachelors and a bevy of local beauties who played along as caddies the next day at UBC. Also present were real, bona fide bunnies who hopped to it and, needless to say, provided a couple of really big . . . hits. And lastly, big congrats to two luxury brands who hit the market last week with a pair of decadent launches. MCL motor cars and Aston Martin premiered their all-new Aston Martin DBS vehicles and showroom on Burrard street with a 200+ guest list and flowing champagne. Also, it was a toast to the coast at chef Gord Martin's Bin 942 as premium California-made Hangar One Vodka made a big splash. Made with to-die-for flavours of kaffir lime and orange blossom, it's easy to see why this vodka has taken over L.A. and Las Vegas by storm.
