The Spirit of Vancouver’s annual Chinese New Year Gala Dinner and Celebration took place last Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Part of these celebrations also included an honour to Chinese-Canadian businessman Thomas Fung, chairman and CEO of the Fairchild Group, who was recognized with the first Spirit of Vancouver Leadership Award. Meanwhile, last Thursday, the gang at Ceili's Irish Pub & Restaurant was raising a pint or two with special friends in celebration of their first birthday. Located on Granville in the old Skybar space, the crew was in high spirits with live music, nibbles and lots of libations. Lastly, a big shout out to the chefs and staff at Italian Kitchen on Alberni who, during this last weekend of Dine Out Vancouver, worked absolute magic on their line. Watching these guys work is not only entertaining, but positively delicious. Ask for a bar seat, and watch them cook up a storm!
