Some of my best childhood summer memories include going to see the Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) musicals at Stanley Park's Malkin Bowl. From "My Fair Lady" to "Sweet Charity" and beyond, this talented group has a Vancouver history dating back to the 1940s. Keeping up with the times, and the costs, hasn't always been easy, but after a one year hiatus, the gang is back and everything's coming up roses. Last weekend, the cast and crew of "Oklahoma" and "Grease" took their final bows on a very successful and profitable season. Then it was off to Earls on Robson to celebrate - celebrity style. Meanwhile, Yaletown jazz man Rob Gietl, of Capones restaurant fame, didn't miss a beat with the addition of his new ultra lounge and eatery - Deuce - in North Vancouver. An intimate, invite only party provided a preview of what's to come from his hip and happening Element Hospitality Group. Cheers.
