  • Global Glitterati at Bar None Vancouver

There was glitter everywhere. But then again, that’s the point behind the Global Glitterati party night at Bar None. Last week the Yaletown hot spot was decorated with mirror balls hanging from the ceiling and unicorns standing guard at the door. There was even a throne fit for the queen of the party – birthday girl and celebrity stylish Crystal Carson. As a driving force behind the Global Glitterati company, she has helped style and fashion some of this city’s best known personalities. Local celebs were also on hand to party as the club was turned into a pseudo-themed Studio 54 champagne popping eye-candy extravaganza.

  • Whistler Cornucopia Wine and Food Festival 2013

It’s one of Whistler’s biggest events of the year – and this year it just got bigger. Whistler’s 17th Annual Cornucopia food and wine festival is on now and there’s lot of new stuff happening. Usually held for only one weekend, this year the festival has expanded to a full 11 days and two weekends. Sponsored by North Shore based BlueShore Financial, the event is known for its famous winemakers’ dinners, tasting seminars and wild after parties. This year’s version however has a mellower tone. Putting the focus back on the wine, attendees and guests can walk from event to event with ease and experience all that Whistler has to offer before the big ski season hits. The festival continues all this weekend.

No wigging out here. Crush tasting gala is Whistler’s premiere event at Cornucopia and a great place for a girlfriend’s night out.

  • Olympian Ashleigh McIvor at West Vancouver Otters Awards

It was a room full of champions last week as the The West Vancouver Otters Swim Club held their annual awards banquet at West Vancouver’s Hollyburn Country Club. The formal night is always fun for the families and friends who get a chance to honour the kids and all of the year’s achievements. This year was extra special as guest star and 2010 Winter Olympic gold medal champion Ashleigh McIvor paid a visit to sign autographs and speak to all the athletes. Keep a close watch on this gang as something tells me we just might see another future Olympian emerge in the not so distant future. Congrats to everyone involved!

  • Olympic Parties – The Big Ending

All the medals have been given out and the athletes have gone home, but the memories will live on forever. The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics were clearly one of the best star-studded parties this town will ever see and it was wonderful to have been part of it. O Canada – thank you for making us proud.
