The 28th Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival was held all last week at various venues around the city. France may have been the host country this year but they were not alone as 15 countries and 186 wineries took part in wine dinners, trade tastings, seminars and feature food events. The Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction brought out the big bidders at the Fairmont Vancouver March 1, but the International Festival Tasting Room at the Vancouver Convention Centre was where friends met last weekend to sample some 1,320 individual bottles for themselves.
