Variety International Vancouver Humanitarian Award Dinner 2005 - 78th International Convention

May 12, 2005

By Catherine Barr

Variety International, the Children's Charity, is famous for their telethons - but even more important is the work they do behind the scenes to help kids all over the world. Last week, at the Westin Bayshore, delegates at the 78th International Convention attended the Variety International Humanitarian Award Dinner 2005 to honour Vancouver's Joseph and Rosalie Segal and Victoria's most famous musician/composer, David Foster.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Together for 58 years, Rosalie and Joseph Segal have raised millions for organizations like Children's Hospital, Commonwealth Games Assoc. and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. They also helped establish Simon Fraser's downtown campus. They are the 2005 Humanitarian Award recipients.

Forget Whitney, she sings even better. Demo recording artist Nina Whittaker is the not-so-famous voice behind David Foster's Oscar nominated "Bodyguard" song "I Will Always Love You.".
