North Shore Rescue 40th Anniversary in North Vancouver with the JP Fell Pipe Band

Sep 17, 2004

By Catherine Barr

WE hear about it all the time - "Hiker missing on North Shore mountains". Enter the many volunteers at North Shore Rescue who, for over 40 years now, have been risking their own lives to save those of others. They've re-written the book on lost and found and know only too well that no one is immune from the dangers of mother nature. Just ask their own members who, as recently as last May, came to the aid of fellow hikers stuck on Mount Logan - a trip that the eight-member team set out on in celebration of the 40th anniversary. Last Saturday, at the NV City works yard, a special ceremony marked the milestone anniversary. The JP Fell Pipe Band led in dignitaries as speeches were made honouring past and present members.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.
