Relay for a Friend

THE Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for a Friend was held on the North Shore for the first time ever on Saturday, June 8 at North Vancouver's Mahon Park. Over 40 registered teams took part in the day-long run which starts early with a breakfast and cancer survivor "victory lap" and ends with a touching candlelight ceremony after dark. The run requires teams to have one member on the track at all time, but when you're not running there is tons to do including a bocci tournament, martial arts demonstration, kids tent and more. It is the signature event for the British Columbia and Yukon Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, who can always use your help. Contact them at www.relayforafriend.com
