Playhouse Bacchanalia

THE Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival, which runs from April 22-28, is one of this city's premier events. The highlight of the week is undoubtedly the Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction - a black tie affair held on Tuesday April 23 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. For $250 each, guests were treated to a gourmet five course dinner with 11 specially selected matching wines. However, wine connoisseurs can't wait for the big wine auction which takes place after dinner to spend thousands of dollars on rare collections. The festival continues through this weekend with public tastings that you won't want to miss. Go to www.playhousewinefest.com for more info.
