JP Fell Robert Burns Night

SCOTLAND's National Bard, Robert Burns, was born in Scotland on January 25. Known as "the ploughman poet", his songs and poems are widely recognized the world over as he and his works are honoured every year at this time. In North Vancouver, the JP Fell Pipe Band, in association with the Clansman Benevolent Society, held their annual Robert Burns Dinner this past Saturday at the JP Fell armoury. It's always an impressive night with the entire pipe band entertaining everyone. Over 300 guests attended to see the haggis cut open and to raise their glasses in honour. This year, the 78th Fraser Highlanders brought along their drill team and traditional dress to make the evening extra special. |
