Kid's Help Phone at the Oscars

WITH all the glitz and glamour surrounding Oscar night, it is so easy to forget all the hard work that goes into things behind the scenes. Such is the case with the Kids Help Foundation / Kids Help Phone. Each year the Kids' Help Phone helps children from over 3,000 communities. They are not movie stars, but they are shining stars to troubled kids everywhere who look for support and direction. Last Sunday, over 300 guests attended a very special Oscar night celebration to raise funds for the organization. The Hotel Vancouver did not disappoint as a fabulous dinner was arranged, complete with huge video screens to watch all the awards show action. Over $75,000 was raised thanks to a silent auction, live auction and balloon prize draw. Congratulations to all the night's winners.
