SPCA Garage/Bake Sale

THEY speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. But lately, the North Vancouver SPCA has been fighting for their own lives. They're in need of community support and funds to maintain the operation. So, last Sunday, everyone at the SPCA got together to hold a special Volunteer Day garage/bake sale. There was hot dogs and refreshments and, of course, lots of home made baking. Even the four-legged, furry friends were invited. It was a great opportunity to learn about the organization and their work.

Volunteers Sonya Muller (left) and Lee McIvor played with the pups outside. Both dogs are looking for new homes.

SPCA Superintendent Jeff Lawson was happy with the turnout. "Save our SPCA" was his slogan.

And just how many jellybeans do you think were in that jar? Even Jan Jones wasn't sure, but she had fun watching everyone take a guess.

"Peggy-Sue" came to the SPCA with a broken pelvis, but now she's all better and looking for someone to love.

Jim Dolter encouraged everyone to come on down and help out. Become a volunteer and help lend a hand.
