NV Chamber Golf

THE weather was fabulous as golfers and duffers alike took to the links on Sept. 8 in North Vancouver's 10th Annual Chamber Golf Classic. Fun was the real name of the game as lots of familiar business faces played hookey from work to enjoy a day in the sun at Seymour Golf and Country Club. This year was also different because participants got a chance to choose between playing an individual round of golf or participanting in a day long golf clinic (what a great idea). There was an outdoor lunch, putting contest, and lots of playing "a round". Later, after enjoying one of Seymour's famous steak and salmon barbecue dinners, all the prizes and awards were handed out. It was a terrific event and no one went home empty handed.

Doug Jamieson, of the TD Bank, was caught sneaking away from the buffet with a full plate - yummy.
Dining outside by candlelight was fun according to Donna McGeachie, Barry Gibson (centre) and Steve Cannes.
North Vancouver City Coun. Barbara Perrrault and her famous hubby, Senator Ray Perrault, were looking good.

Bob Resch (from left), wife Vicky and Don Hamilton were at the Investors' Group table. They chatted about their day on the course.
The Investors' Group gang may have been last in line for the buffet, but judging from these smiles, they didn't seem to mind. From left: Jocelyne Lawson, Deryck "Rusty" Rustemeyer and Ginny Griffins.

*BIG*
Canuck hockey star Dave Babych (centre) will be forever popular with the fans including TD Bank's Mike Watson (right) and event organizer Faizzal Fatehali (left).
Tournament chairman Doug Smith looked very at home behind the mike. When he's not golfing, Doug is busy as VP of North Shore Credit Union.
Holly Back (left), of Holly's Hair, and Charito MacKay were selling lots of lucky tickets for the 50/50 draw.

It was a prize draw where everyone wins. David Head (from left), Blair Grabinsky and John Nicholson ensured that no one left without a golf goodie.
Gerry Hennings' lucky ticket won him a cruise aboard the city's fire boat.
We expect big things from our own NS News gang now that somebody has finally given them golfing lessons. From left: display manager David Whitman, general manager Doug Foot, HR/promotions manager Dee Dhaliwal and her husband Amar.
They say the couple that plays together, stays together. Gulshan and Sadhru Mitha are testimony to that.
