Don Cherry

He's the hard-nosed, loud-mouthed host of Coach's Corner on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, but in real life, he's a great big teddy bear.

Over 500 fans attended the Sportsman's Dinner at the Hotel Vancouver to watch him and co-host Don MacLean do their thing, and they didn't disappoint.

We talked as he stood in line waiting to be introduced (along with the rest of the sports star athletes), and believe it or not, I found him to be almost shy.

He gave me a quick cuddle before he left and Dave "Tiger" Williams offered to take our picture (yes, that's us). Oh heck, why not?
