Comedians Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles were best friends long before they landed their star-making roles on the Drew Carey Show. Their 20-year friendship goes way back to the days when both were struggling actors here in Vancouver doing improv comedy. Last week, this dynamic duo paid homage to their adopted home town with a special appearance at Ten Years of Urban Improv at Kisilano's Chivana restaurant. Organizer/actor Roman Danylo and friends were extra pleased to find that Stiles, who was not scheduled to appear, heard about the show through his mom and drove up from the U.S. as an added surprise guest. Meanwhile, Vancouver's Four Seasons Hotel unveiled their new Yew Restaurant + Bar. This place gives Zen a whole new kind of zip with a raw bar, panini bar and 150 wines by the glass. It's also home to one of my favourite brunches of all time - La Boqueria – a Latin-inspired, hand crafted masterpiece featuring exotic meats, jellies, jams and a fresh egg/omlette cookery to die for. Try it - "yew'll" love it.
